Pros

Fellow recruiters and SOME account managers are great to work with. They will teach you a strong work ethic and proper business etiquette. They challenge you to be the one who controls your destiny and what you want to do with your career and grow within the company.

Cons

-Work life balance is terrible, if you leave before 5:30 you will be scored and talked about behind your back. You can barely even ask off for vacation because if you stay out too long it will be talked about by management, you will lose business/commission due to so many different factors that could occur while you are away. -Mentally it is draining. Staffing is significantly tougher right now and you will be under pressure to fill positions quickly. You never feel like you have a full sense of accomplishment. -"Blame the recruiters" Business in staffing is slowing because there are lots of companies hiring but few candidates available now so Account Managers try to say they are doing their job and the recruiters are failing to fill the positions. This means the recruiters suck or need to work longer. You will also find at times that Account Managers did not properly get the information for the job and you are stuck in limbo recruiting for something you do not understand. And then once you find the candidate, you find out the company does not want to hire anymore or filled it themselves, i.e. the account manager did not do their job. But the recruiter will be blamed for not filling the position fast enough. -Favorites. It is a sales environment, you must separate yourself but they still like the people who waste their lives staying at the office until 8pm or have the highest commission more than you. -They always say they are "growing" when really they are backfilling people who are quitting. -They reguarly have to have recruitier 101 meetings to try to keep people motivated or teach them why aerotek is the perfect company for you because they realize working there can get old real quick. -Candidates are terrible to deal with, very high maintenance and you are always the one to be blamed for their problems.

Pros

Great people, great training, great entry level opportunity to get into recruiting and sales. If you are successful you will make more here than about anywhere else. Performing Recruiters are making $55k-$75k. Great Recruiters are making $100k+. Every large office has salespeople making $200k-$400k. Culture is 100% committed and generally cool type-A's you would want to have a beer with. The skills, drive, and sense of urgency you learn at Aerotek serve you well anywhere you may go later.

Cons

If you are just looking for a low-commitment 8-5 job while posting on social media about where you are partying that night...you will not like Aerotek. Success requires an all in approach both in work ethic and active support of the culture. That is not for everyone. There are Political Science grads 3 years out of college making $200k+, but there is a price to be paid. All the tough work comes first. If you are not up for the level of work and commitment, Aerotek is not for you. If you are, none of this is really a "con" As far a real cons go, the benefits are only OK, and finding work/life balance is pretty difficult.
