Pros
- It's a job ! after all you can pay the bill have food , some beer go to holidays - The illusion of working for a great company its great on the CV - The Interview part and recruiter makes you feel you really got into something great. - Some pizzas , sweet, coffee machine and Tasteless fruits at the office (May be from unsold stocks at your local store it's free so be happy) - Customer focus that's perhaps the greatest thing in th is company. - Can work from home depending on your role yay! - You shares value can rise mine did double i was really happy about it :P
Cons
- Amazon Targets for Employees are determined by some artificial intelligence software : you get it !! does not take into account the human aspect it just predicts what you should be you next target. Target are moving at crazy pace . This month 10 is the target you did 11 ? oh well then 12 will be your target next month. It just doesn't stop push push push . 10 People achieved 12 and 4 achieved 18 ? oh well target for next month is 14 for everyone like dante inferno ! go deep and deep until you can't take the heat anymore switch. - If you achieve your target let say 10 they still ask for more and they don't even tell how much , it's just like more more more (No reward no real salary increase may be a round of applause a voucher for Mc donalds ( go get some junks food boy you deserve it)) - Salary is minimum and in my almost 4 years in the company 2 different dept work increased fast than the money. It was fun in the first year i can say so but every year is almost like getting closer to something really hot. Work for Amazon may be high level role are better , but low level role Amazon should be Amazon your very last options. Don't get impress by the big name or the illusion displayed at the interview they all look serious but at the end of the day it's just the usual bull. I worked almost 4 years in Amazon when i look back i can't even believe i could survive that. I'll tell you many people look happy or may be they want to look happy and show how amazing work for Amazon is whenever they leave the company i always approach and saying like what happened you look so happy and doing with praises from managers lol. They all confirm that they were trying to be positive until it's clear that it doesn't work. I did well in my time thanks to my own abilities but that doesn't mean this was a great company.
