Pros

An amazing company with outstanding benefits and a supportive environment that fosters technical skill development, even for individuals without a prior background in technology.

Cons

Leadership at the director and VP levels is heavily influenced by office politics, where advancement often hinges more on relationships than merit. One VP, in particular, wields outsized influence—I’ve personally heard her speak negatively about colleagues, and it’s widely believed that crossing her can jeopardize your career. Her conduct has fostered a culture of favoritism and distrust, undermining professionalism across her teams. The message is clear: to advance, you align with her. I’m fortunate not to report directly to her—but everyone knows exactly who I mean.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
