Pros
It depends on your team. I've worked across many different teams with some of the best and smartest people. But they have all left. The PM's in Sydney are the golden children. They love the company and are taken care of. The company is trying to still be "good" to employees with remote work and in office socials. But been watching the company change for the worst with new management and it's been disheartening. The pay is on par with other big tech companies and there feels like there is career stability.
Cons
As a PM you're expected to no only deliver big impact but to also contribute to PM craft in order to get promoted, which means you are going above and beyond just delivering impact but also taking on a whole other set up work. The promotion pool gets smaller and smaller each year. Feels like there is little chance of career development unless you are spending 10+ hours a day working. Very little work life balance, especially if you're working across time zones and have a family. Management expects a lot without clear support. There is a reason more and more employees are taking personal leave at the company.
