Pros

Lots of turnover and layoffs and if you manage to survive, you’ll get pick of your friends’ old jobs!

Cons

I don’t recommend BD. Not to friends, not to colleagues and not to strangers. When vetting this company as a potential employer, beware. They use deceptive tactics on social media for “reputation management.” It’s cheaper than fixing a negative work environment. Read the critiques of the company carefully. What bothers me about the culture at BD? They do not care about your bad experience or what you think, ever. In their minds, problems are never them, it’s always the problem of lower level “buffer” employee they can toss the blame on. They’ll burying wrongdoing and pretend it never happened. How about try to be a better company? Wishful thinking ... Are you a wishful thinker? This is not the company for you. Zero truth to power. BD has thin skin management that is incapable of dealing with criticism. Simply put, because they don’t listen, they don’t learn. This is one of the company’s biggest weakness and is getting much worse. This will frustrate you if you work here. It will seriously drive you nuts. It’s a dollars and cents company. You are a number and if you’re low on the list, you’ll be shamed to see if you’ll leave on your own (this is cheaper for them), and if that does not work you will be laid off in the coldest terms possible. HR at this company carries the senior leaders’ water and is savage. Layoffs are a normal thing here. If you’re still around and become bothered by watching your friends get axed, you’re next. “This is fine.” Meme level stuff here. The creepy loyalty that they expect is NOT mutual. They’ll lure you from your 20 year career and fire you in less than a year, and maybe give you a month’s worth of salary when they show you the door. This happens more often than you’d think. Most employees here have expiration dates on their jobs. Zero love loss. They won’t support you. They manage head count, they don’t train and nor do they support talent. Get in the boys club and your safe. You will not be trained as to how you can do this. This is my take on the culture in one sentence: They only care about the stock price and will fleece patients, customers and employees to make the numbers (and themselves) look good.
