Pros

Great Expat salaries. No taxes. Over USD 90 per hour. Good and cheap medicare at the expense of public funds. BHP Billiton Colombia pays NOTHING for any employee's insurance. Corrupted local government's officials make this joint look good!

Cons

Looks like Paramilitary strategyapplied in BHP Billiton Colombia finally reached Houston, Chile and Australia. Paramiliary HRpractice institutionalized nose brown and miggling as a MUST TO DO policty in order to attain a good pay job regardless of poor performance. Local outsourcing do their jobs. Should they require using their brains at some extent they would outsource it as well by hiring temporary experts in Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace ops..

Pros

Some good co-workers and good challenges

Cons

Leadership in the Tucson office is highly political and unprofessional. Feedback is not given directly. Local leadership is more interested in Linkedin posting and image, rather than anything of substance.
