Pros

Easy to get training and certificates in whatever you are interested in.

Cons

Salary is not competitive. I am a cross-functional team lead for a very large team with excellent results, in a billable role (billed more than £1k per day for the company) but I am part of the grad scheme so my pay is only based off my peers, which is a very unfair way to grade pay. When raising this with my pay reviewer I was simply told their hands were tied and I just need to get a promotion if I want to be paid more. Promotions are hard to come by even when you tick every box. I excel in my role and I am doing much more work and to a very high standard but I am not being rewarded for how well I do my role. Promotions only seem available to those who are 'visible to the right people', rather than being rewarded for the job I am actually being hired to do. Being put at a disadvantage because I don't have enough time to dedicate to being part of a newsletter or run a community call is ridiculous and should not be a reason to not promote a well qualified candiate. It seems like a cop out to cover up the fact that they are not providing pay reviews for employees to have a standard 'in line with inflation' raise (which is not happening this year!). Fewer promotions mean more profits for the company.

Pros

Pretty flexible. It's cool if you get on a project with a good client, because honestly you will become like a low-class employee at that company who they all dont care about and expect you not to be around very long so if you can deal with that then you can try and have a good time with them.

Cons

Honestly can't believe the audacity and entitlement of the middle management at this place. For example, last year everybody got about 3% merit raises (not at all keeping up with inflation but still something). This year, they were working with the same pool of funds to work with for raises, but made a "business decision" to consolidate the raises to only management. The rest of us got nothing. And the TOLD us they kept everything for themselves. And in addition to that, they twisted the knife by COMPLAINING to the whole department on a department call that their bonuses weren't enough. Just tone-deaf and careless mostly.
