Cons
Participants were asked to commit several months to this programme and sign restrictions that discouraged them from pursuing similar opportunities elsewhere. Based on that commitment, I stopped other applications and invested a significant amount of time, including evenings and weekends. Four months later, I received a very brief phone call informing me that there was no role available. What disappointed me most was not the outcome itself, but the complete lack of transparency throughout the process. If there was no realistic hiring opportunity, participants should have been informed much earlier so they could make informed decisions about their careers. I trusted the process and made career decisions based on the expectations created by this programme. Looking back, that trust feels completely misplaced. For a company that publicly promotes inclusion and support for women in technology, the gap between the message and the actual experience is difficult to ignore.
