Pros

- Offices in Flora and Luxembourg Plaza. Easy to reach. - Free parking in Luxembourg Plaza (You have to ask your supervisor for it and you'll get the pass). - Colleagues are great, ready to help, and really competent. (Of course, it depends on what team you work with). - Image of the company. One of the biggest in the world and all time! - Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. - It can be a huge plus for your CV. - Training sessions are nice and you'll get free access to all the LinkedIn training. - Speaking different languages is welcomed. - Quite stable job and not stressful. - Your superiors are depending on your team because of the bad managerial of employee hiring. You can actually play with that. If they lose you, they will be in a very big mess. So never take seriously what they say when they want to pressure you.

Cons

- Extremely huge corporate. You'll see that you are just an ordinary employee working in a small division that is already in a small division that is in a small division and so on. - You can't propose ideas for the company or the department you're working for because of that (it is the same for all huge companies like ExxonMobil). - Texan company means Texan mentality. They only care about money and how to spend less and this affects the employees and the managerial part in Prague. The Texas headquarter has a big influence on the managerial part of Prague. - You're seen as a number. Quality is not what they are looking for in this department. - The more productive you are, the more amount of workload they will give to you. Never do extra hours even if they tell you so. - Your supervisor's boss will tell you non-sense things to try to put you under pressure to do more. And this happens while you are still on your learning curve. - Showing appreciation by your superiors is non-existent. - You are not recognized at your proper value by your superiors. - Salaries are excessively low no matter the department and the seniority. - The job is not passionate and you'll always do the same thing. - Benefits are close to the depths of nothingness. You just have a very little amount of extra money but it is nothing. They used the pretext of the Corona pandemic to cut off all advantages and benefits. You won't get free languages courses, no massages, no office workouts, no fresh fruits in the office. - ExxonMobil doesn't pay any more for team buildings, dinners with your teammates, etc. (Corona apparently). - Extremely huge and wealthy company that acts like a poor one. - Many people are leaving ExxonMobil because of those things. - You'll notice many changes within your team. Most leave and superiors do nothing to compensate for this loss. That way, you'll be alone doing duties of 3-4 persons. There is a remarkable lack of employees but they hire no one. (To save money as usual). - You'll encounter people who are veterans in ExxonMobil, they worked for more than 10 years there and you'll keep wondering how is that possible. - The whole payables department in Prague is in a big mess except for some parts. They do absolutely nothing about it even though they need to hire people. - It is a department that you see working yourself for a maximum of 6 months. During that period, you'll notice envy to change company.

Pros

Good opportunities for networking and travel.

Cons

A significant HR issue between interns occurred during my internship and was handled very poorly. Once the matter came to HR’s and leadership’s attention, it was not officially resolved until months after the internship had ended. The VP privately apologized for the situation, but the overall response was inadequate and felt as though the situation was being swept under the rug. The lack of timely communication and follow-up created a very uncomfortable environment for a young intern and significantly impacted what was otherwise a positive internship experience.
