Pros

Growing US business with lots of opportunity for career development. Excellent general manager, service line managers, and local managers. Listens to employees through surveys, and open to employee feedback if you have the gusto to ask for things. Good mentoring program and experienced people are giving of knowledge and time. Employee ownership is becoming more accessible Genuinely good people who want to solve problems and provide client service Increasing knowledge and delivery of Design-build projects. Winning lots of work lately and the North America Wastewater Lead and water group business leader are extremely competent. Local office encourages YP engagement and provides funds to do fun things during lunch or after work like the ping pong club. Quickly adapted to remote work and have become more flexible.

Cons

Less than 30 percent of employees are shareholders and the shareholding program is not very accessible or transparent. The benefits and time off/holidays are average. Due to growth, procedures and tech systems are constantly changing and it's hard to keep up with the current way something should be done. Like many other companies, liability is a big factor for decisions, such as delayed return to office (covid). Local young professionals are relied on to lead morale boosting events and team building. Salary adjustments can leave some to be desired. QA/QC of design documents should be more extensive. Drafting team isn't very attentive to detail. No paid paternal leave.

Pros

Great starting point as an internship, gives you good experience to the professional and consulting world, pay for an engineering intern is satisfactory. Values of the company and support from coworkers is appreciated. Seems to be a psychologically safe place to work and make mistakes. No noticeable workplace toxicity or politics. Everyone seems to be authentic and chill. Not noticing anyone keeping their heads down and received reports of satisfaction with work environment from coworkers. Exposure to a variety of projects, including field work experiences. Seems to be a solid resume builder.

Cons

Need to be pretty proactive for work. For me who enjoys having work to do, its kind of stressful. You have to take initiative in making your own plan. For someone who thrives in structure and needs a bit of help in planning, this is a struggle. Limited flexibility in doing a hybrid role (even though job description stated it was when I applied) For someone who is 42 mi from the office and with heavy traffic takes 1h 15 min to reach the office, its a struggle. But I understood that my commute time is longer than average when I took the position.
