Pros

- A lot of really nice people with in-dept technical knowledge - Flexi hours, able to buy more holidays - New building

Cons

- The smart, nice people aren't in the power - The company leaches off the employees to benefit only the senior management - Long-term (20-25yr) irrelevant and incompetent people who are indoctrinated and can't function outside the company - WAYYYYY below market pay - Poor career progression

Pros

Good projects, some very smart n good people

Cons

Greedy shareholders with terrible personalities. This leads to poor management style which trickles down from the top. It makes the ruthless horrible but incompetent feel empowered, n the competent good people with great personalities are driven out. The remaining good ones that stay soon change or are driven out too, leaving behind a hot mess of the most terrible personalities. Shareholders don't care, most of them are over fifty n are just hanging on so they can exit with good share prices - hence decisions are usually for the short term, not for the good of the company. Epitome of corporate greed. Merger with CRA seems to have made them more ruthless.

Pros

GHD, in my opinion, is a fascinating place to learn how the consulting industry works. There are some incredibly talented technical people within GHD, and if you position yourself correctly you can do well .

Cons

The technical ability of "Technical Directors" should be questioned. And there should be a transparent process to that. GHD is certainly trying to address transparency issues recently, but they have a long way to go and is questionable whether they're going about it the right way. It has quickly become a 'shareholder vs workforce' mentality. During 2020, much like most businesses, there were unprecedented cutbacks. One such cutback at GHD was confiscating/taking every employee's time in lieu, with two weeks notice, because of "COVID". Whilst I agree there was an awful lot of global financial uncertainty, I still don't agree - at all - with this approach. It essentially comes down to stealing hours and money from the lowest earners of the company (majority field staff) and then posting great financial positions and dividends the following months. There's a lot of things that just aren't quite adding up (insert "hmmmm" emoji).
