Could be a great company, new management isn't aligned with company culture - Coordinator Hilton Employee Review

Pros

The pay is pretty good, headquarters in VA are beautiful, real effort to have employee events at least once a month, good benefits and overtime paid.

Cons

Where do start...In general the management is good, however they were chosen for their strategic capabilities and I don't think there was any thought to making a culture fit. It is very much a man's world, diversity policies are so-called supported in paper, but not practiced in reality. If you are mistreated by a manager, you cannot go to Human Resources because they are on the manager's side. You cannot go to your manager's manager because they are friends, don't want to lose their job and if you work for a senior executive, there IS no other manager :) So you must remain silent and just leave. If you want to keep your job, come in, stay quiet, do your job and leave every day. Don't expect anyone in management to care about you, your career or growth. They let go recently of a lot of their long term employees.

Pros

Great staff and lowermanagement. Last general manager was unfriendly and not very helpful.

Cons

I was supposed to get long tenure status for lifetime friends of family with my veteran status. Worked at Hilton 9+ years. Supposed to get 1 year for my veteran status (according to the handbook at that time) which would make 10 years. HR supposedly turned in application in August 2024. I even followed up and was told they were working it. It's been almost 2 years and haven't heard anything yet. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Guess I won't be staying at Hilton Hotels.
