Pros

A handful of nice people to work with, mostly in operations. Corporate Division and HR are completely immoral and unethical in every sense of the word(s) and run the resort so if you are an HR mindset type individual, you will thrive at Orange Lake. Nice property. Seems to have a solid future goal and vision for company.

Cons

The amount of cons would honestly take a few hundred thousand words. To keep it short (and in the best interest of my time) I would avoid this resort and especially the corporate division at all costs. They have no clue how to run a resort and have a simple minded outlook - but at the end of the day, it's Holiday Inn - how much talent can you really expect? They are a 1 star/diamond company and will always be that - they suggest they have a "great culture" but have no idea how to actually make an engaging culture. Voluntary Turnover is well over 80% and the C-Suite is clueless with how to fix anything. The Corporate Team runs the entire company like back stabbing snakes but are some of the most uneducated people I've ever met. They have the audacity to put down amazing companies like Ritz-Carlton or Disney and then believe that they run a better company than these world class organizations. They allow some of the worst managers to stay working but fire the true backbone and heartfelt employees. If you are a threat to those above you, you will be let go "for not fitting the culture". BEWARE - The Corporate Training Team is by far the worst collection of people I've ever worked next to in my career. The "senior leaders" (although I use that term loosely) think that they are God's gift to training but have to purchase their training materials from other companies because they aren't competent enough to write their own. They hire female millennials who don't have enough sense to think for themselves and just follow the upper managers blindly! And ultimately this entire team has zero integrity! They will weed you out if they decide they don't like you and will manipulate HR to side with their stories. BEWARE - this team is like a cancer that is making multiple decisions from behind closed doors and then spreading their ugliness throughout the resort. And once they infect an area of the operation, its already too late - you and your area will succumb to their demands or you will be on the hit list to be removed. Interesting enough, this team has little or no real talent despite having so much power.

Pros

You get exposure to different sales styles, personalities, and ways of handling guests. Some coworkers and leaders were genuinely supportive and wanted to see people improve. It can be a good place to build and learn how to think on your feet. The earning potential is there for the right person and the team environment itself can be fun and energetic at times.

Cons

Training and coaching experiences can vary depending on leadership style. Success often depends not only on effort, but also on access to mentorship, tour volume, and real-time guidance. Communication and expectations between departments did not always feel fully aligned, which at times created confusion around development and performance goals. During slower seasons, limited tour flow can also make it difficult for newer representatives to build consistency and momentum.
