Pros

Flexible work schedule and options

Cons

HubSpot has been steadily declining year over year. Employee morale is at an all-time low, with benefits being scaled back and cutbacks happening across the board. They've also been quietly laying people off for 'performance,' but what's worse is that they repost those jobs with no intention of actually hiring anyone, just to make it look like the company is growing.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Two things we’d love to respond to: Benefit Changes Recent benefit changes were made to ensure market competitiveness and maximize the value of our programs within an allocated budget. While benefits will evolve over time, we prioritize the employee experience and make these trade offs and decisions carefully. Any benefit that has changed or been scaled back has been in order to add or improve an additional employee benefit. “Layoffs” HubSpot manages performance with utmost integrity and appropriate process. Like any company, we do expect all HubSpotters perform the expectations of your role, and naturally some people will leave due to performance reasons. We can assure anybody reading this that any open role on our careers site is real, and that HubSpot continues to grow! -The People Team

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
