Pros

Its the best place among all Indian companies to get yourself trained as a fresher. They invest heavily on you and the training is world class. Atleast when I went through it (2007), the standard of the training was excellent. You will also be trained in soft skills by experts over around 10 days which will be very helpful. Ofcourse everyone knows about the great facilities they have in all their development centres. Infosys follows processes very stringently and its not always enjoyable as an employee. But there is a lot to learn from all the processes. Processes are an integral part of any industry and it is better to know about it and then hate it rather than hate it without knowing it. Onsite opportunities. I know for a fact that Infosys used to consistently pay a higher onsite salary that most of it's peers. Also, the no of Visas with Infosys used to higher than the peers.

Cons

You have to stay in office for 9.25 irrespective of if you work or not. The very top performers are not rewarded very fast. The rewards are more or less similar for everyone. You cant expect to work brilliantly and being promoted within a few months.

Pros

My overall impression of the company is positive. The compensation and benefits seem fair and supportive, and the company appears to offer good career growth opportunities for employees who want to learn and advance. In terms of culture and values, it comes across as a professional, respectful, and collaborative environment where people are encouraged to contribute and develop.

Cons

I did not notice any major concerns, but like any large organization, there is always room to further improve internal communication and clarity around career advancement.

Good learning opportunities – Access to internal learning platforms, certifications, and training programs (especially for freshers). Global exposure – Opportunities to work with international clients and global delivery teams. Structured processes – Well-defined policies, documentation, and governance. Work-life balance (project dependent) – Many teams offer reasonable working hours. Employee benefits – Health insurance, paid leaves, and wellness initiatives. Safe and inclusive workplace – Strong focus on ethics, compliance, and diversity.

Cons

Salary growth can be slow – Compensation increments may be lower compared to market standards. Limited flexibility in role changes – Internal mobility and project switches can take time. Bureaucratic processes – Decision-making can be slow due to multiple approval layers. Project allocation delays – Bench time and delayed onboarding to projects can happen. Variable learning exposure – Skill growth depends heavily on the project assigned. Less innovation in some teams – Certain projects may use legacy technologies. Onsite opportunities are limited – Compared to earlier years, onsite roles are fewer. Performance appraisal transparency – Rating systems may feel rigid or unclear.
