Pros

The hybrid working model offers valuable flexibility. The most significant positive aspect is the supportive and encouraging nature of immediate colleagues, who create a collaborative team environment that helps navigate the daily challenges.

Cons

Senior leadership, while possessing deep product knowledge, often lacks fundamental management skills, leading to a culture of excessive control and a clear lack of trust in employees. Following recent staff reductions, workloads for the remaining team members have increased substantially with no salary adjustments or consultation on capacity, leading to widespread burnout. There is a tangible fear of speaking out against issues, as employees can become targeted, which stifles genuine feedback and growth.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and for your positive comments regarding your immediate colleagues and the flexibility provided at Iress. However, I don’t believe the remainder of your feedback reflects the culture, leadership, or experience of the people I work with at Iress. Iress is led by a group of committed individuals who are focused on building a sustainable, innovative business that delivers long-term value, for our people, our clients and our shareholders. Our current performance is validation of the decisions taken in the last couple of years and we are excited by what lies ahead. We take allegations of poor behaviour and bullying seriously, and we have clear and confidential channels in place for people to report concerns. That said, these systems only work when people choose to use them. We expect everyone at Iress to take responsibility for speaking up if they witness or experience something that isn’t right. While you have left Iress, I encourage you to use our ‘speaking up policy’ (available on our website) so we can better understand and address what you've raised.

Pros

People, Good central office (Melbourne) Staff benefits are ok

Cons

Engineering management is a let down - poor behaviours, micromanagement, lack of trust - the list can go on. Seems to get swept under the carpet or ignored so patterns continue to fester and have for years.
