Pros

40hrs per week no more no less, Fridays off, standard benefits and pay, some teams are good, lots of people you can ask for advice, lots of work social groups.

Cons

Some teams really suck, have no culture, and will have you asking yourself "what is my purpose?" Like the robot from Rick and Morty. Your purpose, of course, is to pass the paperwork. Lots of times you'll be administering processes to get things changed or approved and checked, rather than actually designing things or doing real engineering. (This is especially prominent in electrical/mechanical support equipment) (stay away from support equipment) some teams have terrible culture making you feel like you're at an outpost on the north pole by yourself. (EGSE) There is ALWAYS some sort of hamper every time you try to get your experience based promotion as well (oh we don't count outside LM work, we have a hiring freeze, there's no positions right now, we have layoffs) DO NOT EXPECT to get your promotion. You need to change teams or companies to get a promotion. And did I mention LAYOFFS, for a fortune 500 company, they're doing pretty terrible finance wise to plan poor enough for layoffs. ALSO, their sick time pays out monthly rather than beginning of the year. This was changed conveniently before layoffs, but I'll let you be the judge.

Pros

High level of integrity throughout the company, open communications, and sincere interest in doing the right thing.

Cons

Unfortunately, I need to come up with twenty words of cons. When in reality after 41+ years in IT, I have no cons for Lockheed Martin. They are not perfect, but highly acceptable.
