Worked there for 1.5 years. It was my first part-time job and my store manager was amazing. She was really nice and understanding. But the upper management was just horrible. The store managers really had to tank a lot of the bs from upper management and they are expected to do a ridiculous amount of work.
In turn, part-timers are also often to do crazy amount of work for the pay that we are receiving. $9 - $10 per hour is very little when you have to manage the store on your own (sometimes even on weekends), attend to customers, attend to piercings, and upsell earrings (because they track all these things and you are expected to upsell these specific earrings even though we don't receive commission for it or for piercings). If you are expected to do closing and opening on your own, track sales and all also just deal with horrible management for this kind of pay is a lot honestly. You are not allowed to sit if at all even if there are no customers and you work long hours, there are no backrooms for you to take a quick break as well. So its common to be stuck standing for 3 to 4 hours straight.
If you are looking for a quick part-time job to just kill some time its not bad, but there are other retail places that has better pay with a much more better workflow for their part-timers.
