Pros
PayPal offers a lot of flexibility, good benefits, and (for the most part) hires talented and kind people. They provide fantastic resources (new Mac book pros, ultra wide monitors, etc), value work-life balance (team and manager dependent), and understand the benefits of remote work.
Cons
This company doesn't value it's employees when push comes to shove. The layoffs were handled terribly and opaquely. They followed this up by not providing raises to workers after boasting across-the-board profits at the quarterly earnings call a week prior. There is no clear path for career growth either, since workers are expected to "solve big problems" to get noticed (which, of course, incentivizes constant big problems). The rush to push new features causes many of these problems, so little to no time is ever assigned to remove mounting tech debt.
