Pros

Good commissions within sales and good bonus for account management. free lunch, discounted health care and gym memberships. Drinks on Friday.

Cons

Not enough girls! Clear favouritism from management/leadership team and unless you are their 'buddy' don't even think about getting a promotion. If you want any career progression at all it's all up to you. They do not update you on which teams are hiring. They don't promote from global opps to the business unit because there seems to be fierce competition and/or no communication between departments. Hardly any support from leadership and the sales team have lost 2 team leaders within 6 months because of the environment. Lots of constant changes within the team that disrupt the peace. The global opps team is very obviously tight on budget that they try to make as many cuts as possible.

Thank you for the feedback. I think you are right; PayPal has been experiencing lots of constant change over the past 18-months while we established ourselves as a separate and publically-traded company. I also agree with you that Paypal strives to create an environment where all employees can learn, thrive, and do great work; Paypal really is so much more than a brand name. With regard to career progression … we’ve revamped our promotions process over this past year to enable “continuous promotions” throughout the year and empowered each leader to make these decisions; I’m confident we’ll be seeing transfers, promotions, and stretch opportunities that span across functional, geographic, and business boundaries. And with regard to, “not enough girls!”, we’ve recently released our diversity statistics which demonstrate we’ve made above average progress against our value of inclusion … and are leading the pack among tech and fintech companies. We are excited about where we are and where we are headed!

Pros

Globally recognised company, good company values and strong value prop in market, the company holds fun social events from time to time. Great sabbatical program to loyal employees who can stick around for 5 years. Discounted gym membership and great health cover with on site massage available, flexible working conditions (but this can be very dependent on your direct manager and which team you are in.)

Cons

Free Wednesday lunch is no more, broken processes with no clear guidance for employees to follow, moving towards more of a corporate banking culture with above average incentive program. (Could do with a revamp) Lack of support and training has lead to employee turnover and team mates feeling overstretched mentally due to a lot of changes recently.
