Pros

Open Source Culture, Ability to help clients and ability to specialise in a particular SBR. Some free training (in your own time)

Cons

Where do I start? This is from the Brisbane Office. We were told we now need to work extra half hour a day even thou the contract signed (enterprise agreement?!) states unless you get paid over 80k you cannot work over 78.x hours. When confronted the management told us blatant lies. Red Hat then sent a specialist in to try and add some more lies, they then had a conference call with US specialist for more lies. At this point I've have handed in my resignation. Trust goes both ways. They eventually went back to the original enterprise bargaining and were not required to ask for the extra half hour work. The managers were amazingly thick skinned, after thy reverted the "rule" the line manager was promoted?! and replaced by some with no Open Source experience. I thought the Open Source Culture was worth the 10k pay cut from my previous job but I was wrong.

Pros

Extremely talented and motivated people Great product and ecosystem around Kubernetes

Cons

Bluewashing is real. After 4 years past acquisition it is not Open Decision company anymore. There is no clear communication about the direction where the company goes, some departments were moved to IBM without clear explanation why. Promotion process that was clear before is gone, and now your salary increase or promotion are directly depend on your relationship with the manager and not from your contribution to the team or the product.
