Pros

- Amazing colleagues - Working remote

Cons

After the acquisition of IBM, the company has begun a slow slide into being absorbed, despite being a subsidiary. The culture has shifted dramatically. I worked during the wonder years under former CEO Jim Whitehurst, and those of us who were there at the time know it as a magical time. That's no longer the case. Many of us were passionate about open source and its ideals. There's definitely less emphasis on building an ethical community and more emphasis on making sure that double digit revenue growth happens each quarter. Morale is much lower these days, and many people have already left for greener pastures.

Pros

Extremely talented and motivated people Great product and ecosystem around Kubernetes

Cons

Bluewashing is real. After 4 years past acquisition it is not Open Decision company anymore. There is no clear communication about the direction where the company goes, some departments were moved to IBM without clear explanation why. Promotion process that was clear before is gone, and now your salary increase or promotion are directly depend on your relationship with the manager and not from your contribution to the team or the product.
