Pros

Used to love this company and the culture. It has done a complete 180 over the past 2 years. No pros anymore.

Cons

Company is trying to go public within the next 2-3 years and in doing so they have completely forgotten to care about their employees. Instead the numbers on the books are now what are most important and they will burn any employee regardless of tenure to make sure those numbers jive with what they want to see. Huge commission reorgs which cut salaries literally in half with 2 weeks notice before going into effect. Currently hybrid WFH schedule but I have no doubt we will be full time in office by 2024 regardless of 99% of employees asking for more remote work. Blanket approach to every decision made. Management continues to bring up that employees complain about lack of transparency but then do nothing to make it better. Worst transparency and communication I have ever seen in a company. They will lie to your face and when you question their decisions and try to talk about how you feel they blow you off and essentially say “too bad” and nothing happens. Received emails from high up management basically claiming we spread rumors and telling us to keep our mouthes shut when it comes to talking about change that the company is imposing that will affect us meanwhile they tell us nothing and preach a need to know basis. Employees who have been with the company for years are leaving in droves and the ones still here will most likely be gone by the end of the year. It’s clear they are now just looking for kids fresh out of college who don’t know any better and will just do exactly what they’re told.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re disappointed to hear your experience was not positive. Without knowing your specific team and managers, we are not able to speak to the issues you’ve mentioned, but we value our employees’ opinions and continue to expand the ways we communicate with them and have them communicate with management. I will escalate your concerns to management. If you would like to provide additional comments, please feel free to take this offline at SHIFeedback@shi.com which is a non-confidential alias.

Pros

Great place to work for especially for those in information technology looking to learn more from software and hardware vendors. The meet and greets + lunch and learns help you learn more about the products and services they provide.

Cons

None, I’ve had a positive experience with them!

Pros

This may be a good place to start in order to gain experience in the industry at the entry level. Beyond that it should be a stepping stone.

Cons

The Glassdoor numbers say a lot. Only 50% of the people who work here would recommend to a friend or colleague. In school, 70% is 1% away from failure. SHI is 20% below failure. To add, 53% of the people who work here have a negative outlook on the company's future. That seems like a trend in the wrong direction. If your career is an investment in your life, that needs to be considered before investing a career into SHI.
