Pros

Good place to get our foot in the door and gain professional experience. Good place to meet friends.

Cons

After 2 years being at SHI I have never been so happy to leave a company. Very low base which does not maintain the cost of living in Austin. They give false expectation to new hires about the money they are going to make. The politics and favoritism at this company is ridiculous. The company does not fight for their employees and are ready to get rid of them as soon as they don’t hit number. They have unrealistic expectations of quota and what they want their sellers to do. They will work you like a dog for the bare minimum. Employees are very replaceable there. Please think before going to SHI. Get your experience and leave. Some of the managers are not equipped to lead teams.

Pros

This may be a good place to start in order to gain experience in the industry at the entry level. Beyond that it should be a stepping stone.

Cons

The Glassdoor numbers say a lot. Only 50% of the people who work here would recommend to a friend or colleague. In school, 70% is 1% away from failure. SHI is 20% below failure. To add, 53% of the people who work here have a negative outlook on the company's future. That seems like a trend in the wrong direction. If your career is an investment in your life, that needs to be considered before investing a career into SHI.
