Pros

work from home, life-style spending, health insurance allowance, great peers.

Cons

Moral has decreased dramatically since they decided to stop hosting regional support summits. Year after year we are waiting for them to rehost them but it hasn't come. The rest of Shopify get their own grand summit yearly in Canada to be flown out to, but I guess Support roles are not worth spending that money on. Thinking of moving to a younger tech company who still loves its support employees and hosts yearly summits for them, other peers have left for similar reasons in this last year. Face to face connection is so important for remote jobs and its really disheartening to feel less valued in the company and have our own summits discontinued. Summits gave us our energy for the year and something to look forward to and feel like we are apart of the company's mission and as a whole, without being invited or having our own support summit I feel like we are not truly seen as apart of Shopifys team by the execs even though we work so hard to support our customers and be the face of the company.

Pros

Remote first culture. If you want freedom of location and a company to truly mean and support it - this is the place.

Cons

Constant change. Nothing to hold on to in this role, compensation, KPI's, tools all change every quarter.

Pros

High comp and AI forward. One of the few remote places left.

Cons

Upper management basically openly disdains the “working class”, and it’s a major jostle among the VP and Director level for currying favor with the CEO. The investment in AI tooling is smart but also the C suite majorly suffers from AI psychosis, it’s embarrassing, actually.
