Pros
Coworkers are great, free drinks & food item per shift, free markout a week of coffee or tea, flexibility
Cons
Not enough hours to support one self unless you are a shift supervisor or above. If you pay rent and have bills to pay this job will not be enough for you, the work is tough labor and there is never enough employees. They cut hours more and more every year leasing most of us to picking up a second, even third job. The pay raises are done once a year and are not performance based. Everyone gets one whether they've been there for 2 months or years... Which discourages older more experienced partners. There is no organization in most stores I've worked or visited. A terrible lack of communication & not enough motivation for the partners. We are expected to say yes to everything & connect with customers but then are yelled at for talking too much. The sanitizers and soaps provided by starbucks DESTROY OUR SKIN & are never provided with the right equipment to protect our skin. You have been warned, if you have sensitive skin don't work here.. there are so many better options. Pay is honestly low considering all that we deal with, and comparing to other companies with baristas/servers. Training hours have been cut down even more and we are not give enough time to train new partners which lead them to make poor quality beverages, cleaning, etc. the technical support staff almost never helps solve problems and when they do come in to fix things they end up breaking something else. Oh and let's not forget... Customers are meaaaaaan.
