Pros

I am fairly new to the company but it seems as if Target is very organized, they focus on training and development. They are a great out of college job because they train new executives well. They also value education which is rare in retail. They offer tuition reimbursement and are flexible if you want to pursue higher education. They also facilitate transfers nationwide and ensure you do not take a pay decrease to move. Target also cares about the community and gives millions each year, it is good to work for a company that gets involved.

Cons

When you begin with the company you are in limbo as you are not assigned a specific job or location. They do expect executives to work lots of long hours. The culture though positive is hard to master quickly so new executives can feel out of the loop for the first 5 months.

Pros

If you are looking for a job that you’ll be a part of a fun team environment, have the ability to learn all about customer “guest” service, retail operations and sales, as well as merchandising even at entry level great opportunity. for such a large corporation I have been pleasantly surprised by how tight knit teams are. applying was okay, there were multiple steps (videos, assessments) but overall not too bad)., phone call and then video questions before hiring.

Cons

Pay isn’t great, but for the market it’s fair. Moving up involves a much larger increase in responsibilities and workload relative to the pay increase.
