Mixed feelings - Executive Intern Target Employee Review

Pros

This position pushes you out of your comfort zone. You learn a holistic perspective of retail management/operations. You have to learn to analyze reports, manage teams, merchandise, handle guest situations, etc. Target has good training and is really focused on development. As an intern, you have the opportunity to interact with district leaders. Campus recruiting maintains good relationships with Target interns throughout the process.

Cons

The hours are the biggest downside. As an intern, you are capped at 40 hours a week, so you can't really begin to understand the hours that ETLs put in. Also, at times you feel like you are doing the exact same work as a team member. It really makes you think if you went to college to push tubs/zone areas/be a backup cashier, etc. Also, working at a store level really confines you to many corporate restrictions. There isn't much room to exercise creativity.
