Pros

If you are work driven, customer service oriented, and quick on your feet (both mentally and physically), the job will reward you for these strengths in any department you choose. Management is generally good and the extracurricular benefits are strong.

Cons

From personal and cumulative experience, Target can and will exploit its employees for the greater good of its quarterly revenue. If you are liked my management you will be flexibility tested (essentially bent to see where you break, and then expected to maintain this high performance under any circumstances. You will not have much personal freedom especially in deciding what department you will work in or help out in, hours are generally very hit or miss with people (most in my store are under-scheduled, I am over-scheduled), and the cherry on top is the incredibly stressed out management if you are at a top performing target that creates a toxic corporate culture that, for $15-$16 base pay, is uncalled for. Most people I work with are college kids or aspiring students, work about 40 hours a week, and frankly do not enjoy it. The hours themselves are also not ideal, you will most likely either be in at 7-8 and out in the late afternoon, or you will be in mid afternoon to 12 (or later). Good luck.
