Pros

1. Work life balance (relative, but overall there) 2. Decent health insurance for parents 3. Decent number of leaves per year 4. Above average learning opportunities with iEvolve , Udemy etc.

Cons

1. The HR department is the worst, hands down. 2. Outdated rules (formals, 5 days a week to office etc.). 3. Extremely poor and old school management. 4. No salary hikes. 5. Extremely laid back attitude of almost everyone you stumble upon. 6. Demotivated environment. 7. It is a norm with the management that no matter what, it is always the employee who is at fault. 8. Least employee friendly company I have worked for till date. 9. Only the top 0.5-1% employees (most of whom are technologically challenged and shrewd) reap all the benefits of the hard work that the "cheap labour class" does. 10. BGC policies are deliberately cretaed to harass employees and humiliate them at any give time. Again, worst BGC that a company could have. 11. Job security is a myth.

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
