Pros

I don't know any Pros.

Cons

I was selected as a ninja candidate and received an offer letter from TCS in November 2022. However, I encountered significant delays as I only received my joining letter in March 2024, almost a year and a half later. Upon joining, I was assigned to the infrastructure domain, despite not being informed of this during the interview process. Unfortunately, I found that there was no support team or HR department available to address any queries or concerns I had. Despite numerous attempts to contact them via email and phone calls, I received no response. The hiring process at TCS has been extremely disappointing. It seems there is a lack of organization and communication within the company. This prolonged delay and lack of support have caused considerable frustration and inconvenience for me. Additionally, the negative reviews I received from others who have experienced similar issues have further reinforced my concerns about joining TCS. Based on my experience as a ninja candidate, I cannot recommend TCS as a favorable option for others in similar positions. It's essential for companies to provide clear communication, support, and a conducive work environment for their employees, which unfortunately, TCS seems to be lacking in.

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
