Pros

Decent pay, not great. 401K match. Volleyball court and gym on site.

Cons

Spent the first 6 months as an internal manager feeling as if I was a contractor working from the outside. My manager had set our department out on an island away from the rest of the organization and had no idea how the rest of the company worked. I was constantly trying to reintegrate our department into the larger whole. She had so many blind spots when it came to her own department it was incredibly sad and annoying. My 2nd manager thought he was emotionally intelligent but wasn't. I expressed outright that I didn't feel safe talking to him about my ideas for improving the organization and he gave me... nothing. Crickets. How do you tell someone you don't feel safe with them and they don't respond?? They stack rank their employees, so when it comes time for bonuses your best employees are ranked against each other, so if you have a good team there are at least a few people getting screwed every year. We had a very professional team with solid history/experience in our field and yet our leaders opinion on our learning content trumped everyone else's (this is a highly subjective field) and this is disheartening to great employees who have collaborated on a project. I went in to work most days fearful of having to work with my boss. Can't believe I stayed for 2 years. My mistake for staying as long as I did. Terrible management. Very siloed. Not enough onboarding in each department.

Pros

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
