The owner is absolutely incompetent and, now that I know his background, explains why he cannot push his company to the next level (10 years, and the level of growth is not impressive). Also, the fact that it is nearly a decade old, and the management structure is consistently being flattened or reconfigured really says something. Not to mention the fact, when I was there, that people were quitting like this place was on fire, due to the fact that there is no career guidance or job demands.

Every couple of weeks someone gets fired. This is a very small company and for some reason the owner is determined to hire a CMO, COO, etc... So he usually hires someone who has experience from a larger Fortune 500. They of course don't work out because the company is too small for that level of management. Everyone is professional but don't expect to work with any top talent here. They are a eCommerce company, but they don't have the pay rate or atmosphere to attract the top talent.
