I have been working at HOYTS part-time for more than a year

    Pros

This job is a great first job. Very easy work, lots of discounts on food and tickets. I've made a lot of friends here and love the staff events. They can be flexible with rostering, although depends who is managing.

    Cons

Not many hours are available depending on the site you work at, and often try and cut your hours more. Lots of drama and gossiping - keep everything to yourself! Management can play favourites, or can be unsupportive. No penalty rates, and they take your break out of your penalty rate if you work late at night (i.e. after 12am you get 1.5x the pay, but they say you took your break then so you don't get paid extra).

I have been working at HOYTS part-time

    Pros

Cheap movie tickets, great social dynamic, large variety of roles and skills available for learning, flexible hours which is great when studying.

    Cons

Poor treatment from head office/area manager (as a manager), disappointing pay with no weekend loading. Managers have insane expectations placed on them considering how little they're paid, making it hard to finish shifts on time as there is too much work to do.
