Pros

Schedule was flexible and that's about it.

Cons

You will get hired and maybe get a promotion.. they throw a ton of tasks that are above your job description with absolutely no compensation. They will take advantage of you if you're a willing hard worker. Turn over rate is horrible, I went through 3 managers and 2 regionals while I was employed and 3 rounds of leasing staff. The company took over steadfast does not care about the residents and only cares about the numbers in the system. The employees are just objects that corporate doesn't know or care about. They don't care to take the time to get to know how the teams work. I have never been so frustrated with a company in my whole career. Im SO glad that I wasted 2 years of my life to be over promised things that were never delivered. I mean just go LOOK at the responses to the reviews on here.. its inhumane, they only care about numbers.

We're sorry your experience was was not as expected. We did merge with another entity 6 months ago, which has created a tremendous amount of opportunity for everyone on the team. It's also created an opportunity to look at best practices within both organizations and implement best practice systems, technology and organizational structure. I assure you each and every employee is cared for and greatly appreciated by the organization at all levels. I think we have clearly demonstrated that with our excellent healthcare benefits, company funded benefits, 401k match, PTO policy, paying people extra sick pay during the pandemic, paying for different certificates for employee growth and education, and giving the entire company a substantial increase in pay 2 weeks ago because of inflation. Our recent employee survey indicated that our greatest attributes are; communication, employee/employer relationships, and the future outlook of the combined organization. We are very focused on the financial success of the company as well as the employees who support the operations. We feel these two components of the company are what makes up the big picture. Both are extremely important to our sustainability and company/individual success.

Draining & Frustrating

Pros

Insurance is reasonably priced for Employees and is average coverage, nothing fantastic but in line with most other company plans in the industry today and definitely better than my last company. 401K plan available. Employees gifted stock.

Cons

In an industry known for a poor work/life balance, this company is the worst for that I have worked for in my 20 years in the business. The sheer volume of admin busy work and time demands from corporate departments virtually guarantees late nights regularly. Managing a community here is the ultimate example of how inefficient technology can actually make an organization. Yesterday was a fairly typical day email wise so I went back and counted up the emails I got either auto-generated or from someone in a position in corporate and averaged it out over the 480 minutes a day that constitute a work day. What I saw was that I received a corporate generated email on average every 7.6 minutes. That doesn’t include emails from vendors, residents, prospects or my team just corporate. Never mind the time it takes to handle whatever the email is about, this means that more than half of the workday is spent simply reading new emails from corporate to determine if action is needed. Add to that how locked down permissions are in the management software severely limiting the ability to delegate many things an assistant could normally handle on a property and there is another way the technology works against efficiently running the property. The company has also placed a lot of technology responsibilities in the hands of the service team. Technology they are largely unfamiliar with and very uncomfortable using. This results in a lot of time wasted for both maintenance as they struggle to work with systems traditionally handled by the office team and for the manager who is frequently interrupted to assist them in using technology. To quote one of my techs: ‘if I wanted to spend all day on a computer and email I would have gone to work in an office instead of unclogging people’s toilets! And I wouldn’t have to be on call. I do maintenance because I don’t want to work on a computer.’ Aside from the work life balance the other con I would say is not feeling very valued by the company. Average annual pay increase percentages are the lowest I’ve been able to give my staff of any company I’ve worked with in my career. At the same time, my employees living onsite receive annual renewal increases higher than the increase in pay effectively reducing their income each year instead of increasing it. Meanwhile, of the dozen other company’s I have worked for in the business if an employee moved in onsite their rent stayed the same as long as they stayed in that particular apartment and remained working at the property. That absence of rent increases versus living elsewhere has traditionally been one of the positive trade offs of living onsite where you never really leave work. It’s hard to feel like the company values the people taking care of it’s assets when that is their reality.

Thank you for your feedback. There is a lot to review here but it does seem like your feedback is specific to your individual experience. I assure you that a favorable work life balance is something we keep tabs on for all staff. The overall feedback we've been getting around technology, workflow, and work/life balance has for the most part been excellent. We're glad you mentioned the 401k and Stock awards to every staff member as the 100% 401k company match on 4% of salary and the stock offering to all staff truly does set us apart from our peers.

Pros

Great benefits, easy enough work, opportunities for advancement, volunteer work, hour lunch

Cons

When you are understaffed they offer no help and it can be months before you are staffed again. Everyone is overworked -- even in corporate, the regionals have too much on their plate so they have no time to spend with individual branches.

Thank you for your feedback and it's great to hear you feel we're offering a 4 out of 5 star employment experience for you. In regards to staffing levels, I'd like to encourage you to speak to your community manager directly. We never want our staff members to feel as though they are doing the job of more than one person for an extended period of time. We've made recent adjustments which will allow all of our Regional Managers to spend even more time within their Communities. Our goal is consistent communication, like this, and to continue our excellent recruitment process for obtaining new team members.
