Not what it once was. Feels like a sinking ship.

Pros

Laid back atmosphere. Very little micromanagement in most departments. Positive culture still exists in pockets.

Cons

Laid back atmosphere is likely due to complete lack of leadership and direction. Salaries are average, with tenured employees being capped at median rates once they reach 50th percentile. Upper management seems tone deaf to the voice of most employees, instead hand picking certain people who serve their current agenda. Management seems incapable of finding competent sales people and marketing products. Lack of product development stalls any attempt at gaining market shares, which is another example of ineffective leadership.

Pros

Developing cool products and having the opportunity to influence both the functional and technical direction of these products. There are a lot of great people to work with.

Cons

As this is a smaller, family-owned company, there can be somewhat limited growth opportunities for certain positions. Family and privately owned companies can always have their own unique brand of politics to navigate.

Used to be great....

Pros

Take time whenever you need off. No real structure to adhere to. Start whenever you want and leave whenever you want. Work from home sometimes. OK benefits.

Cons

USED to be a fantastic place to work. Management has no real involvement any more or cannot make up their mind on what you should focus on. No promotion from within the company at all any more. Prefer to hire outside. Clear division between departments with little communication. Mismanaged money leads to layoffs. Disconnect of company from employees. Plan to make about ten thousand less than the low end for your position in this area. $15 million projected in sales and only offering each employee an extra vacation day.
