Pros

Not bad as a first job. Learn a lot about how a business works.

Cons

No penalty rates for weekends. Expect you to work at the drop of a hat. No 8 hour break between shifts during the weekend. Unrealistic exceptions from management. Rude customers and upper management. Little recognition. Made to feel bad when I asked for holidays, or needed to take a sick day.

Pros

Free food and can have fun staff on.

Cons

Have to do the work of 5 extra people because everyone is too lazy to do it themselves. If you get offered management, run. Don't do it, they'll force you to go part time meaning you earn less and barely ever reap the benefits. No breaks given to managers on 7+ hour shifts and no one is ever grateful for what you do. Do not excel or they will expect more from you.
