Good Opportunities for Career Development, but Culture Could Use Some Improvement
Pros
- Broadest process technology portfolio in the marketplace, with industry leading market shares and strong technical expertise - Opportunities for career development and pursuing different career paths - Actively growing the company by focusing more on global trends like decarbonization and the energy transition - Above average salary and benefits (the company has recently made a conscious effort to be more competitive in these areas)
Cons
- Some senior leaders have been in their positions for long periods of time and are not open to new ideas or different ways of doing things - Most long term employees are good performers and have been with the company their entire careers. As the company looks to grow, they are hiring large numbers of outside employees, but don't do a great job of providing adequate training and support for new employees to be successful (a lot of this knowledge is in long-term employees' heads or personal files, and is not well documented elsewhere or stored in central locations). - Company does a terrible job of managing and dealing with poor performers (often times the poor performance is tolerated or ignored, and the work is pushed onto higher performing employees instead) - Significant attrition over the last year. Some managers are not open to hearing employee issues or concerns, and when they are raised, they are ignored and the employee raising them is blamed.
