Pros

*After working for NeoLore Networks for 2 years, I was very confident when pursuing the next stage of my career, as I knew whatever challenges would be thrown at me, I developed the resilience and the self-determination needed to work within the IT field. This is due to the nature of working for an Managed Solutions Provider, you are introduced to many different fields of IT and learn to troubleshoot within them. *The work culture is great, I really did enjoy all of my co-workers and all of the support that they provided. If you ever ask for help, someone will be willing to help. Humor is definitely appreciated at NeoLore! *Not being siloed to do one specific task, and one task only. You will be introduced to all different networking environments, though there is opportunities to become an internal specialist for a specific product or technology. *Work events, free coffee, occasional lunches provided by management and different treats. Always nice to have! *NeoLore has been improving their visibility into the different aspects of work that are being completed. For example, if a client is undergoing a migration from a 100% on-premise environment towards a 100% cloud environment, those steps are being outlined for all to see, even if you are not involved with the project yourself, which is a great source for learning. Ultimately, if you have the commitment to learn and to work (and you will work!), it is hard to imagine another workplace that will give you the skills to be confident within the IT field.

Cons

*The aspect of always being "on". This is an issue for any MSP, as part of the position ultimately is customer service. Whether your ensuring that the correct tickets are prioritized, you're speaking with a client on the phone or you're onsite at a clients, there's very little cool-down periods.

Pros

I started working at NeoLore at the end of January 2018, I had reservations at first as it was a big step to leave my previous company but NeoLore and the owners helped make it a smooth transition. I felt very welcomed at NeoLore and it was quite obvious that this was a place that put their employees first based on how happy all the employees were. It came off odd a little at first as I've never worked somewhere like this and it was strange to me, I had a chat with the owner (Jim) and brought it up. He explained to me how he views his company and employees, conventionally the CEO, Managers, CFO, Directors would be at the top with their support staff on the bottom. The way NeoLore is ran it is the front line staff who are the most important, they interact with his clients and look after them, with out their dedication and hard work there is no NeoLore. After this was explained to me it all made sense and I realized I was in the right organization. In the world of I.T everything is always changing, after working at NeoLore for 6 months I had an amazing opportunity at another company that I could not pass up, NeoLore and the owners understood my position and what I was going through so they were very supportive and left the door open to return if circumstances changed for me. Compensation is very fair and there is a good work life balance.

Cons

Days can be long as they are 8-5 but when you are supporting many companies it makes sense to have staff working. Employees can sometimes take pranks/jokes too far, some may be put off by this but I chalk it up to a fun work environment with banter.
