Working at PATLive is like being in middle school again. They record all calls. You get graded on random calls. They have no “rule book” on how the calls are graded so the call graders can (and will) give you a 0% for the most ridiculous and petty things. You are graded on your tone of voice, grammar, spelling, form check, interaction quality. If you don’t answer the call “cheery” enough, automatic 0%. You are required to repeat EVERYTHING back to the caller, also have to spell back EVERYTHING to the caller. Trust me, just about every caller is irritated by the end of the call. You cannot have ANY “dead air” or you’re marked off. Some of the scripts are LONG and have very specific directions on exactly how they want you to type or talk. So you have about 15 seconds to read ALL that before you answer the call. If you don’t say “please” after every question you ask the caller you get 0%. If you don’t say “thank you” after every question, yep, 0%. If you don’t use the callers name enough during the call, 0%. And you have to use Mr./Ms. “Last name”… If you don’t ask EVERY question on the script, 0%… Also, 95% of the calls are real estate calls, and the callers are furious, we should not have to ask every question when the caller is clearly already mad. If your overall grade falls below a certain percentage (90ish%), you’re fired. I am 99.99% sure that most of the real estate companies are fraudulent and ripping people off (or trying to). It is terrible that PATLive even associates with these companies. It is truly mentally draining working here and getting screamed at ALL DAY. Trust me, $13 an hour is NOT worth it. I absolutely HATE taking real estate calls and getting verbally abused all day, every day. I was never asked if I was morally okay with assisting these real estate companies in scamming people. Because I absolutely am NOT. They are taking advantage of the elderly, and/or less informed. All of the VA’s are constantly complaining when they have to take VR calls because they hate being screamed at. VA’s make more $ than VR’s. After every call you have 30 seconds to finish filling out the form, check spelling and grammar. Most of the scripts have an internal AND external form that need to be filled out. They promise it’s so easy to get a promotion and moved up within the company. Not true. If you can, definitely work elsewhere!! I have become SO depressed because of this job… and major anxiety daily. My advice would be to RUN! This company does NOT care if you’re getting screamed at all day, everyday. They do NOT care if they are helping real estate investors RUIN people’s lives… I have worked customer service my entire life and the mental anguish I’ve experienced at PATLive is off the charts!
