Pros

- Great benefits package - Above average starting salary for nonprofit in Philadelphia - Flexible use of sick days and vacation time - Quickly growing - Funds are available to staff and for programs

Cons

- Office culture: management does not like nor encourage feedback, change or basic questioning; blame is common - Nepotism is HUGE - You are solely expected to do your job and nothing else - Career growth means keeping you mouth shut and sucking up to your boss and other higher ups - Most managers are figureheads rather than leaders - Yelling is a common method of communication - HR has it's hands tied on how to handle bad managers thanks to the nepotism -"This is how it's always been done" mentality

Pros

Mission driven, and the clients are amazing. Excellent benefits package.

Cons

Philadelphia FIGHT has a deep history, and excellent mission. However, senior management (specifically the CEO) are toxic. There are times it feels like the majority of the employees are around just to be admin support to a CEO who can't open her email or make a pdf. The CEO is rude, does not listen to feedback, and uses processes and procedures that are outdated. The only way to get anything done at FIGHT is to just do it and hope that it does not ruffle the CEO's feathers. This largely works, because she barely pays attention to what is going on around her at any given day. There are people who have been working at FIGHT for years, and I still have no clue what they do. To most people's understanding those employees know too many secrets. There is one employee in particular who is a catch all, and really does nothing, but they are still their with a high figure salary. Most of the problems would be solved if the board, which is in the pocket of the CEO, fired the CEO, and house was cleaned. There is little room for growth, the non-clinical projects are uninspiring, and they are always chasing after funding.

Pros

Incredible patient population, the staff that this organization attracts are people who really are invested and want to be there/do the work so your colleagues are incredible.

Cons

As objectively as possible as someone who left the organization, if you are a clinician (MD,DO, NP, PA, RN, LSW, PsyD) beware! This place has changed so much and not for the better: A place that use to attract talented clinicians now attract clinicians who are RUNNING from one bad situation to another because the org can no longer get who they want so instead they throw high salaries around to attract staff, but its not worth it. The executive director who is the founder should have retired years ago. Instead she grips the reins in detriment. She allows for people to be on staff with titles like "staff enrichment specialist" who don't actually ever come on site, let alone enrich anything. It's nice that she helps folks out who couldn't get a job 20 years ago, but when the clinic can't hire enough staff or give appropriate pay to others because of people on payroll who literally do nothing, it hurts the org. The HR Department is and has always been a joke, They are only there to do the bidding of the executive director and cover up major blunders which have resulted in payoffs and lawsuits. The current medical leadership, who took the place of a fired physician who was a true leader and visionary, is now run by a dentist who has no medical experience but is in chart of the whole health center. She took the position without actually knowing what the REAL CMO did, and has since run the clinics into turmoil. The saddest part are the patients who had long standing relationships with their clinicians who have been feeling LOST after multiple longstanding staple clinicians resigned in 2023. Patients are leaving in droves and fortunately many are finding their former clinician at other local organizations, only to cry on their first visit about their experiences in the total disfunction of the clinic after the fallout of a mass exodus.
