Pros

The children, although it’s abundantly clear they do not want to be there, teaching them was a pleasure.

Cons

The management - the most unprofessional management I have ever worked under. Too many reasons to be comprehensive, but they have their favourites (usually family members or those of a similar race/religion), do not speak English at work (which is uncomfortable if you only speak English), cut your hours without notice, will basically make your life a living hell until you leave. Training - UNPAID TRAINING!!!! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, THEY WILL EXPECT YOU TO TRAIN YOUR FIRST 24 HOURS WITHOUT PAY. The training is useless, rushed, and very inconvenient in terms of location. Learning materials - the kids are given a book that you can buy online and told to fill it out. Any materials from the company itself is written in very bad English (often confusing students). Pay - disgustingly low wages considering tutors get paid loads elsewhere. DBS - they make you pay for your own DBS. That’s if they ever apply for it for you - I went my entire employment without one (questionably illegal?) Will lie about hours you work, underpay you consistently so that you have to chase them for your money and you will never receive a payslip.

Pros

- The children, all of whom were lovely and whose poor parents didn't know any better than to send them to this godforsaken place in the name of bettering their education.

Cons

Unfortunately, the children were the only positives of the job. I can't even explain how horrible this institution is. A few of the terrible things they did; - Fail to pay staff properly. -The building is unsafe and unfit for use- covered in mould, in a dodgy area and there is no maintenance at all. - Staff are extremely underpaid and untrained. -'Learning' (if you can call it that) is limited to completing book work only. There is no interactive learning at all. - Most concerning of all, there is NO safeguarding at all. No procedure. None. One particular staff member was reported many times for inappropriate behavior towards STUDENTS and they STILL work there to this day. it is grotesque and unbelievable. - Management are extremely unprofessional, rude, and toxic towards the other teachers. - Zero staff career development. - Management blackmails members of staff to get what they want (threaten them with illegally deducted pay or on-the-spot termination if they don't work agree to work overtime hours, be available for the company on a particular day etc). These are just to name a few. Genuinely, this is a terrible terrible place. It should not be open. Do not send your children here, they will not learn anything, and you will be putting them in harms way.
