I have been working at REC Group full-time

    Pros

    - Challenging and fast paced - Opportunity to try new roles and departments - Generally flexible enough to take initiative on various new projects and areas of concern - Supportive team (including other departments). - Depending on where you are, not so much politics. - Island-wide buses. - Unless you OT, everyone leaves on the dot (bell at 445pm), buses get you home fast and on time (town by 6pm). - HR tries to have regular events

    Cons

    - Heavy workload - Constantly fire fighting - High turnover - Poor benefits - Salary and bonus is lower compared to other companies (but not so much choice because of external factors) - Canteen food is cheap but.... not very good - only one solar manufacturer in Singapore, skills not as transferable - some micro managers

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at REC Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

A tough but good learning curve that teaches a person to be proactive and independent. Company benefits are decent and company transportation is islandwide. Fairly good work-life balance.

    Cons

At the mercy of outside factors such as politics and fierce competition from Chinese Solar companies. Several restructurings have occurred in under a short period of 12 years since the company began operations. Salary and bonuses not as competitive as other similar industries.
