I worked at SEEK full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free food, drinks and perks such as unlimited sick leave.

    Cons

Very poor culture. Is much like a school yard the way it is set up. If your best buddies with the management and the right people then you are fine, if not then you will be bullied and isolated. They are a very trigger happy company when it comes to firing people. At one point we had a meeting to tell everyone they don’t need to worry about losing their jobs. Think very hard about joining this company and assess your...

    Cons

    - Building is too crowded right now

    Advice to Management

I have been working at SEEK for less than a year

    Pros

Can do what you want when you want to. Have lots of different free resources. Can relax and do stuff people working full time are not doing. Do not have to work set hours Monday to Friday. May need to work weekends. Need to tap into your network. You get to meet lots of people. You find out heaps about different companies.

    Cons

Lack of money. Pay is Zero. Online tests that take up time before you talk to a human. Stressful. Finding referees. Lots of waiting for people to get back to you. Knowing you might have to reject job offers because they take so long for people to make up their mind.

    Advice to Management

There is no management. You need to self-management.

I worked at SEEK full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Office & employee perks are great - breakfast, Friday drinks, flex holidays, flexible work from home arrangements. Relaxed environment. Realistic workloads. Great L&D opportunities.

    Cons

Lack of career progression. Poor culture in some teams (other teams are great hence the title). Fixed mindset, not open to trying new things or learning from others experience. Entitled with no accountability. Management don't know how to manage bullying, passive aggressive, cliquey high school behaviour. Try to talk to as many people as possible before accepting a role.

    Advice to Management

Invest in a consistent onboarding program for all teams. Hold people accountable for their actions. Provide managers with conflict management training.

I worked at SEEK full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Great pay - unlimited sick days - endless perks - good choice of bread and cereal

    Cons

The product/tech department is bloated. Too much middle management and people getting hired that don't actually do anything, except create more pointless meetings to justify their existence, hence it takes forever for anything to ever get pushed to production. People boast about how busy they are with their meetings, yet they are the ones that create them and never produce anything. Definitely not agile. Also too much...
