Pros
I am a supply chain management major and was fotunate enough to get this experience going into my senior year. In this program I got to work on a process improvement project, work with other interns, attend meetings, and help with scheduling labor and leading a team of employees. Great experience all around. I have another fortune 100 company internship to compare to and target was far superior. A supply chain major wont find anything better.
- Compensation was average among my peers who had supply chain internships
- The internship program was very structered and organized; it was obvious this program had years of fine tuning
- Managers had me understand my expectations and geuinely wanted to and took the time to help me with whatever i needed
- Exposure to leadership, labor scheduling, process improvement, collaboration among departments, technical stuff, and one of the best supply chains in the world
- Good chance for an offer for a group leader position which seems like it would be a great job out of college
Cons
- There wasnt any kind of intern conference, like traveling somewhere to hear from executives and meet other interns (however we did have a intern conference call weekly). A lot of other fortune 100 companies have something like this
-I got to work on process improvement; however target is well established so unless you project is groundbreaking dont expect your ideas to be implemented
-Expect to hear a lot of whining from some hourly associates while geeting help with the project. It seems they think 12-15 without a degree
