I worked at Woolworths Group part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

New EBA means pay is good.

    Cons

I was promised the opportunity for progression/movement through departments other than my initial role, but this was not the case.

Management only cared about how quickly we could work, not how well. KPIs were unrealistically high. Did not give us opportunity to move throughout the store to roles that better suited our skills.

Management were unempathetic to sick leave, just saw workers as numbers.

Almost all of the managers in my store were men, making it very difficult to address issues of harassment.

Harassment is dealt with in a highly impersonal manner, through an over the phone service.

Expected us to treat PPT work earning <300/wk as well as a career job.

I honestly just hated every minute here.

    Advice to Management

    Treat people like people

I worked at Woolworths Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Meet a great variety of people and most are great to work with, has a family atmosphere.
    - Can progress quickly if you have a good work ethic and show initiative.

    Cons

    - Dealing with store and area managers could be tedious and frustrating, lack of support for the departments and lack of enthusiasm for their roles.
    - Some team members have been in same rolls for too long and become stagnant and uninspiring - very change adverse.
    - As a department manager at store level there isn't a great work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Give a bit more in your role and show you care and it will filter down to your team.

I have been working at Woolworths Group part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is alright, sometimes the customers are lovely.

    Cons

If you’re not liked by your manager it can show in your shifts (or sudden lack there of), you’d think getting part time will stop that issue but after pushing for almost 2 years for part time despite being entitled to it, I have nothing.

    Advice to Management

Maybe some minimum shifts & Less over hiring then cutting everyone’s shifts because of it.
