AI will be the most important technology of the 21st century, transforming every customer experience, company and industry.
Part of the reason why some folks dismiss it is the reality that this is incredibly hard to do and the barriers to entry are huge. You need to have machine learning software with self-adapting predictive models, the compute power to process petabytes on demand, a constant stream of real-time data at scale and most importantly the talent. There's a reason why Google, Facebook and Amazon are now all "AI-first" companies.
So for me, this isn't a question of whether AI is "over-hyped". Is it a buzzword today - sure...and it is used by lots of pretenders. But that doesn't negate the fact that AI is very real and if you aren't working on your AI strategy today you are already behind. My focus is on helping brands grow in the AI era.
