Great people, bad management. Lost focus on the public
Pros
- The majority of the employees care about the customer and public, very dedicated staff, - Projects are very interesting and relatable, large emphasis on digitisation in the past 5 years, - Still has some benefits (WFH/hybrid, flex hours, working arrangements) however some of these have been removed or heavily limited recently, - Lots of events to stay up to date with the organisation. - Best work life balance, not pressured into unpaid overtime and can easily suit family responsibilities around job.
Cons
- Started to remove a lot of the employee benefits (WFH & remote, flex leave), - Some staff are too relaxed and puts strain on other team members, feels like a retirement home for careers, - Management are very mismanaged, not aligned with the business or customer, - Career advancements very hard to come by, you have to do the whole interview process again to be promoted, - Learning opportunities are very little to none in my experience, too busy to learn & practice new skills/software.
