I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at GE (Columbus, OH) in Oct 2012
Interview
I attended an engineering career fair at my school, where I signed a sheet that indicated my interest in working for the company. After that, they told me to apply online and I did. Once I did that, I scheduled an interview with the recruiter. The interview was a one on one interview in a small office with your usual, run of the mill engineering questions about teamwork and critical thinking. Nothing about the interview process was unusual or overwhelmingly difficult.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GE (Terre Haute, IN) in Apr 2014
Interview
I was briefly interviewed at a career fair. Then, I had a 30 minute interview with nothing technical; only behavioral questions. We discussed my prior experiences, what I learned from them, and why I though I was a good fit for GE. It was very laid back and a week after the interview I received a phone call offering the job.
