I interviewed for the Data Engineer role at McKinsey after being contacted by a recruiter through LinkedIn.
The first round was a technical interview covering Python, PySpark, and SQL. The questions were of medium-to-hard difficulty, and I successfully cleared this stage.
The second round was scheduled within two weeks and focused on problem-solving and a Personal Experience Interview (PEI). I felt that I performed well and was hopeful of progressing to the next stage.
Unfortunately, after that round, I did not receive any communication or feedback for almost a month. Eventually, I got a rejection mail. While I fully respect the selection process, I believe timely communication is important for candidates. If my performance was not up to expectations, an earlier update would have been more professional and considerate.
Overall, while the interviews themselves were structured and professional, the lack of timely communication left me disappointed with the process.
